There is a plethora of hikes on which you can get to know Crete. Over the years we have realized more than 200 different daily excursions and dozens of others, lasting two or more days.
For the year 2011 we have selected some of the most beautiful hikes for you, lasting one, two, three or seven days. All programs described below are designed for organized groups (minimum participants 8, maximum 16).
If our choices are not to your satisfaction or if you intend to climb mountain peaks or cross challenging gorges, or if you would like to explore lesser known coastal regions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Programs for 2011

All our programs have their starting point in Heraklion and include:

1. Hiking on the green trails and paths of Rethymnon

- Duration: one-day walk
- Region: north-west part of Rethymnon province, between Moundros and Argyroupolis
- Degree of difficulty: easy [*]

2. Walking across Aradena gorge

- Duration: one-day walk
- Region: South-east slopes of Mt Lefka Ore, between the village of Anopoli and the coastal area of Loutro

3. Ascent on tp of mountain Guiguilos and walking across Samaria gorge

- Duration: two-day trek
- Accommodation: in a small hotel at Omalos plateau
- Region: in the heart of Mt Lefka Ore, between the plateau of Omalos and the coastal area of Agia Roumeli
- Program: day 1 ascent on Mt Guiguilos, day 2 walking across Samaria gorge
- Degree of difficulty: medium [**], mountain trekking experience required
- Walking: day 1 5h½ - 6h, day 2 5h - 5h½

4. Trekking along the south-west foot of Mt Lefka Ore

- Duration: three-day trek
- Accommodation: in a small hotel at Sougia village (day 1) and in sleeping bags at Pefki beach (day 2)
- Region: south-west slopes of Mt Lefka Ore, between Agia Irini, Sougia and the coastal area of Trypiti and Agia Roumeli
- Program: day 1 walking acrosss Agia Irini gorge , day 2 - 3 walking along the south coast between Sougia, Trypiti, Domata and Agia Roumeli.
- Degree of difficulty: more demanding [***], mountain trekking experience required, individual carring of rack-sacs (including water and food) on days 2 and 3
- Walking: day 1 3h½ - 4h, day 2 4h½ - 5h, day 3 6h½ -7h

5. Trekking in south-west Crete

- Duration: seven-day program
- Accommodation: in small hotels and guesthouses
- Region: south-west slopes of Mt Lefka Ore, between the coastal village of Sougia, the gorge of Agia Irini, the plateau of Omalos, the Mt of Guiguilos, the gorge of Samaria and the coastal area of Agia Roumeli, Loutro and Sfakia
- Program: day 1 Arrival in Heraklion, day 2 transfer to Sougia - hiking to Lissos area, dayr 3 walking across the Agia Irini gorge to Omalos plateau, day 4 ascent on Mt Guiguilos, day 5 walking across Samaria gorge, day 6 continuation on foot to Loutro, day 7 hiking to Sfakia - Return to Heraklion.
